Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to hire the Goodysphere sensory bus?
Our pricing depends on the package you choose, the length of hire, and travel distance.
All mobile sensory room hire prices are clearly listed here, and once we have your postcode we can confirm an exact quote. There are no hidden costs: everything is explained upfront.
Is the sensory bus suitable for all ages?
Our slogan is Accessible Fun for EVERYONE, and we mean it. Sensory needs don’t stop at childhood, and sessions can be adapted to suit different ages.
All our equipment is tested to the highest standards – including our swing up to 22 stone!
How many people can be in the bus at a time?
To keep the environment calm and safe, numbers are limited. Typically this is 6-8 children at a time, depending on individual needs and size. We always prioritise comfort over capacity. With trays added, party size capacity can be increased. It is the responsibility of carers to ensure fair usage and time of all participants.
Can I add sensory trays to other packages?
Yes. Sensory trays can be added to most packages as an optional extra.
We offer a range of themed trays and are happy to recommend options based on ages, interests, and sensory preferences.
Do I need a diagnosis?
No diagnosis is required. Goodysphere is for everyone, whether they have additional needs, are awaiting assessment, or simply benefit from a calm sensory environment. Even if you just want some family fun, Goodysphere is the perfect it for you.
What areas does the mobile sensory experience cover?
We’re based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire but travel across Yorkshire and beyond, our maximum distance is determined by legal driving hours.
Travel costs are calculated from our base using mileage, and we’ll always confirm this with you before booking. Contact us with a location to confirm if we can serve you.
Can I donate to help?
Yes – soon! We are currently developing the Goodysphere Inclusion CIC to help expand access to funded sensory sessions for communities, schools and events. Donations and sponsorship support will help us provide accessible experiences to individuals who may otherwise be unable to access them.
Can I pay in instalments?
At Goodysphere we appreciate that finance can be a barrier to accessing service, so, yes, instalment plans are available for bookings. This is done through Klarna and/or Clearpay and is subject to a small admin change from the provider.
Alternatively, we only require a 25% deposit at the time of booking, with the remaining balance payable any time up to 14 days before your booking date.
Please get in touch and we’ll discuss the options available for your booking.
Are sensory bus staff DBS checked?
All Goodysphere staff are Enhanced DBS checked and trained in safeguarding, with a DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) in place. Our team also holds Paediatric First Aid and Inclusion and Diversity training, with experience supporting children with a wide range of sensory needs.
Our driver, Caleb, is fully qualified with Class 2 (Category C), PSV (Category D) licenses, and CPC, ensuring the safe and professional operation of the vehicle at all times.

Is it wheelchair accessible?
Due to the padded flooring inside the sensory bus, shoes and wheels cannot be used onboard. However, we are always happy to discuss individual access needs and suitable transfer options before your booking.
Alternatively, upgrade to our gold package with additional sensory trays. provides sensory stimulation that is wheelchair accessible outside the vehicle.
What happens if we need to cancel or reschedule?
We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation and rescheduling terms can be found here, and we always aim to be as fair and flexible as possible.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends, school holidays, and events as our diary fills fast.
Last-minute availability does sometimes come up, so it’s always worth asking.
Can the sensory equipment be adapted to individual needs?
Yes. Equipment can be adjusted to suit individual needs, including lowering lights, reducing sounds, or focusing on specific sensory elements. Sessions are always participant-led.
Do you offer free-to-access models for public events?
Yes. For public events, we offer event-funded models where families can access the bus free of charge.
We’re happy to work with councils, organisations, and sponsors to make this possible.
Do you work with councils, schools, and charities?

We tailor each session to suit the setting, ages, and needs involved, and can support both publicly funded and privately booked events.
Do you offer discounts for repeat bookings?

Please contact us to discuss your requirements and we’ll be happy to advise.
What makes Goodysphere different from other sensory services?
Goodysphere is a family-run, immersive sensory experience built around our rainforest-themed bus and our friendly mascot, Goody the Gecko.
Unlike many sensory services, our experience is fully mobile and designed to feel like stepping into another world – calm, engaging, and adaptable. Sessions are user-led, can be adjusted to suit individual sensory needs, and are suitable for all ages, from young children to teens and adults.
Everything we do is shaped by real lived experience and a genuine passion for inclusion. There’s no pressure to participate, no judgement, and no one-size-fits-all approach — just a welcoming sensory space where everyone can explore at their own pace.
Why did you start Goodysphere?
Goodysphere began from personal experience.
Watching his sister Anya grow up, Caleb saw first-hand how often the world didn’t meet her sensory needs. He wanted to create a space that would – one that was calm, inclusive, and built around understanding rather than expectation.
After Anya passed, that vision became a motivation to honour her in a meaningful way. Goodysphere was created to change the lives of other children and families, by offering the kind of support and experiences that would have made a difference to hers.
What happens if a child becomes overwhelmed?
If a child becomes overwhelmed, we slow things down immediately.
Lights and sounds can be reduced, equipment paused, and families are supported to take breaks as needed. There’s never any pressure to stay or participate.
Does the sensory bus need electricity or venue power?
No – the bus is fully self-contained. We do not need anything from you on the day. It’s our job to make it as stress free as possible for you.
We just need a suitable parking space and clear access to the vehicle.
Why are we Ltd company not a charity?
Goodysphere operates as a limited company so we can provide a safe, sustainable and long-term service for the individuals, families, schools and communities who rely on us.
This structure allows us to operate responsibly, meet safety and insurance requirements, and continue growing Goodysphere in a way that protects both the people who use our services and the future of the organisation itself.
We’ve personally invested in Goodysphere and taken on significant financial responsibility to make this possible. This isn’t something we’ve casually stepped into — it’s something we’ve built from lived experience, commitment and a genuine understanding of how important inclusive spaces can be.
Alongside this, we are also developing the Goodysphere Inclusion CIC to help expand access to funded and community-supported sensory sessions for those who may otherwise struggle to access services like ours.
Goodysphere was created following our family’s own experiences supporting Caleb’s sister, which shaped our understanding of how difficult it can be to access inclusive, understanding environments. That experience continues to shape everything we do today.
Being a limited company isn’t about taking advantage.
It’s about taking responsibility so this service can exist safely, reliably and for the long term.
What is a mobile sensory room?
A mobile sensory room is a fully equipped sensory environment built inside a vehicle, allowing sensory support to be brought directly to events, schools, parties and community settings.
Can the sensory bus attend festivals and public events?
Yes. Goodysphere regularly attends festivals, council events, sports events and community celebrations, helping provide a calm and inclusive space within busy environments.
Is the sensory bus fully insured?
Yes. Goodysphere holds £5 million public liability insurance alongside risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and enhanced DBS checked staff.
